Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Is my blending container/blade base part of the recall?
This recall involves Ascent and Venturist Series 8-ounce blending containers, 20-ounce blending containers, and blade bases. The clear containers and black blade bases are included with certain Vitamix Venturist and Ascent Model blenders such as the Venturist V1200, Ascent 2300, Ascent 2500, Ascent 3300 and Ascent 3500 blenders and also sold separately, as sets, or in bundles.
Why are the 20-ounce Blending Cups and 8-ounce Blending Bowls being recalled?
Vitamix is voluntarily recalling the Vitamix® 20-ounce Blending Cups and 8-ounce Blending Bowls because it is possible that the cup or bowl may separate from the blade base, exposing the blades and posing a laceration hazard.
What is Vitamix doing to remedy the situation?
Vitamix is providing a free repair kit that includes parts that consumers can easily install themselves. The repair kit will consist of a protective plastic shroud to attach over the blade base and additional instructional labels. Consumers may call 1-855-215-5178 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday and Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST to request a repair kit or online at BlendingCupBowlRecall.expertinquiry.com Once you receive the easy-to-use repair kit, simply follow the instructions to install the shroud – no tools are required – and you are ready to blend again.
Will I be able to repair the product myself?
Yes. Vitamix is providing free repair kits, written instructions, and video tutorials.
Do I need to place labels on all cups and bowls?
Yes, customers should immediately stop using the recalled 8-ounce and 20-ounce blending containers with the blade base and install the protective plastic shroud as well as the additional instruction labels.
My product appears to be okay. Can I continue to use the products until the repair kit arrives?
No. Even though your product appears to be safe, we are asking all consumers to stop using the product immediately and complete the registration process for this recall to receive a free repair kit.
